Eclipses have inspired awe, wonder, and fear in cultures across the world for thousands of years. In ancient Mesopotamia, for example, kings were ritually replaced by surrogate rulers during eclipses in an attempt to shield them from the dangers these celestial events were believed to herald.
In astrology, eclipses are among the most significant and potent phenomena we encounter, both in the lives of individuals and in the unfolding of world events. Yet understanding how they work requires us to adjust our thinking.
Eclipses can behave like energetic focal points, concentrating and releasing forces that may become visible months before or long after the eclipse itself. They frequently challenge our assumptions about linear time, which is one reason their role in major developments is so easily overlooked.
There is also a geographical dimension to eclipses. When interpreted correctly, they can reveal where in the world significant events are likely to unfold. By combining eclipse timing techniques with locational methods, we can often identify not only when eclipse-related energies are likely to manifest, but where.
While eclipses are sometimes associated with dramatic or catastrophic events, they are not inherently negative. They can act just as powerfully as catalysts for growth, opportunity, and profound positive change, both personally and collectively. As part of this workshop, we will take an in-depth look at the solar eclipse of 12 August 2026 and explore the promising possibilities it appears to herald.
In this intensive four-hour workshop, we will examine the mysteries of eclipses in depth through a rich collection of historical, mundane, and personal examples. Participants will learn practical timing and locational techniques, gain a deeper understanding of eclipse dynamics, and develop the tools needed to uncover one of astrology’s most fascinating and elusive dimensions.
