Sensible Synastry: The Astrology of Human Relationships

The astrology of human relationship dynamics is one of the most fascinating and useful of astrology’s many practical applications, and yet it is also one of the most complex branches of astrology. There are many common pitfalls that can cause people to form quite a distorted and lopsided picture of the possibilities and natural tendencies of a given relationship.

In this intensive crash course we’ll explore this topic in detail. To begin with, we’ll learn to identify how each individual approaches human relationship and human interaction. This is a key first step that is too often overlooked in our eagerness to analyze how the charts of two people interact and combine. In many relationships the real challenges lie in the individual patterns rather than the lack of harmonious inter-chart connections.

Then there is the question of how we approach chart comparison. I’ll be sharing with you certain tried and tested methods that will help you to identify and give emphasis to what is really important. Certain specific relationships between the Sun, Moon, Ascendant and Venus form the bedrock of a relationship’s potential for meaningful connection. Without certain basic channels that allow for an exchange of thoughts and feelings it is unlikely that two people will find each other interesting and accessible, and they are unlikely to form a lasting bond. On the other hand, when these basic channels are present to a high degree, there is an enduring potential for sharing experiences in a meaningful way.

Finally, we’ll delve into the rich topic of the cycles of and rhythms of relating. Relationships aren’t static; they’re always changing and evolving just as we are individually. Astrology can help us to understand the seasons and tides that affect our relationships. These cycles and rhythms range from certain days in every month when we’re likely to be more or less able to experience closeness with another, to once in a lifetime milestones that mark major developments, including the beginning or ending of a relationship.

Although we’ll give a lot of consideration in this course to the astrology of romantic relationships, the principles and methods that will be presented will be applicable to a wide range of human interactions. We’ll even take a look at how we can work with astrological cycles in the context of group dynamics and whole families.

The material presented in this course will for the most part be based on principles of Western astrology, but we’ll be taking a few hints from Vedic astrology (such as the use of the Chandra Lagna and Surya Lagna) to deepen and enrich our understanding.

– Chart Comparison or Synastry: The Four Cornerstones of Relationship and other methods; keeping proportion in analysis.
– Using Composite Charts effectively: what to focus on and what to be careful of.
– The Cycles and Seasons of a Specific Relationship- the unique patterns and rhythms of a given relationship, factors that enable two (or more) people to meaningfully share an experience.
– Methods for analyzing group dynamics and cycles in group activity.

Schedule

– Every Sunday at 19:00 London Time (GMT +1) from 8 September to 20 October 2024, on Zoom.
– The duration of the live lessons will be approximately two hours. Sometimes we allow it to run a little longer.

Attendance and Recordings

– Lessons will be recorded and sent to all participants soon after the lesson.
– Attending the lessons on Zoom is recommended but if you can’t make it you will be able to stay in step with the recordings.
– Participants will get to keep the recordings for their personal use.
– Some parts of the recorded material may be used for future online publication or in other educational projects and products.

There is no set fee! I will accept any donation. I ask only that if you register to attend the course you come with sincerity and a willingness to make an effort.
